全球各国的会计组织有诸多的区分，表现在：
1、目标群体。有个人会员和协会会员之分。在个人会员中又有注册会计师、管理会计师、成本会计师、审计师(和注册会计师不完全相同)、其他会计人员等多种。
2、法律地位和职责差异。虽然协会都基本号称自律，但在当地法律地位有所不同，有的国家的协会有当地会计准则、审计准则的制定权。但大部分国家的协会都是有特定的法律支持设立的。此外，在会员资格授予和资格考试组织权限方面也有是否归属于协会本身行使上的区别。
3、组织形式不同。这尤其以国际会计准则理事会为复杂。
4、合作协会、资格互认差异。在这方面英国的协会的覆盖面较广，尤以特许公认会计师协会(ACCA)。

3、如果上述都没有，则直接根据字义翻译首创一个中文名字。
